Now Toyota has introduced a concept microcar....it looks surprisingly familiar:

Both concept cars. I'm still waiting for the mid-engine Corvette after 40 years. Not worth wasting time contemplating the concept wet-dreams.

I think it's pretty tough to make cars different when they are so small. It comes down to how much you can really do with 4 wheels, an engine, 2 seats, windows, and a box.

I'm still not on the side of the Chinese automakers though

So, waiting for a micro car with long sweeping fenders and a luxurious cabin like a classic Auburn Speedster is out of the question? Aw, say it ain't so!

I guess you're right, when you're dealing with 8 feet or so, it's going to be hard to get terribly creative with styling. I guess i'll be sending my car to Chip Foose for some personalization.

It looks like many electric versions are coming out by '09-'10. PHEV's are definitely in my future for my purposes.
