I liked the stab at the end they took at Mercedes-Benz about the long waiting period being "not so smart".... .
They got that right, American's tend to be well informed yet impulse buyers many people simply can't or won't wait that long for a car. Maybe 2-3 months, would be the longest logical wait, but anything longer keeps a LOT of perspective owners/buyers going to other brands...
smartUSA will never know the true sales potential and product demand of the car unless it is made more available, bottom line.
Just my thoughts.
With that being said, I am in a rare position where the wait is working to my advantage, but for the majority that isn't the case. The lines that are occurring at these smart centers is great, but I would suspect only a small percentage are actually doing the reservation because many car buyers can't wait...
