from what i gathered from the comments it was a test car, which would have had to have been destroyed anyways, that was donated to an artist so he could make the "sculpture". But still, it is a shame!

I was wondering if it was the same car as the one the guy got out of in the beginning. He removed the front license plate and pushed the plate frame, with what appeared to have a dealers name on it, back down but when it goes into the crusher, there is no plate frame on the front.
