The Smart Car Madness Gathering Video .... IN HD!!! ;-)

OK here's the video from the Smart Car Madness gathering on January 17, 2010. You'll notice that the message of the video is a soft sell on the car. My thanks to all who helped me by being willing to be interviewed.

For those who would like a copy of the video, I posted it on VIMEO too. Once you sigh up for VIMEO (FREE), you can download the video. A word of warning it really is in HD (720/30p) and is about 950 MG in size (not for slow connections).

In terms of quality, the YouTube is going to be highly compressed, thus lower quality. The high quality version sits on VIMEO and the sign-up is free. The file is massive, about 950 MB, but it is the finished edit file that came out of my video editor. For anyone who wants a copy, either way is possible and their choice depends on quality vs. size.

The Panasonic AG-HMC40 HD Video Camera is low end for professionals and VERY high end for consumers, about $2,000. The Azden SGM-2X Shotgun mic is around $205, add to that a BeachTek DXA-2s XLR adapter about $150.

One does not need to spend that amount of money for an HD video camera. There are several very good quality Consumer grade HD video cameras in the $1,000 --> $1,200 range. There are cheaper models, but the quality of the lower cost models is less.

The only reason for spending more for the low end professional video camera is if the user understands how to take advantage of all the user controls that a professional camera offers.

Sorry I missed the event, but I had other obligations.
Nice video. I made a new group on Vimeo called "smart car videos" and put my videos and this one in the group.
