smarts at Lowes Motor Speedway

Our club was able to run some laps at the Lowes Motor Speedway (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway). We first met at a Sonic drive-in for lunch, then went to the track (all 32 of us!).

Leave it to our smarties. More passing in a 7 minute video than a whole season of F1.

Yeah, it was a blast. First set of turns wasn't too fast (as you can tell by everyone "falling" off the bank), but then it was up to about 70 or so, which is okay for staying on the turns (considering that pace-car/yellow flag speed is 80, and top speed is 180 or 190). But all in all, a great time!

It sounds like you had a great time. There was 127 of us at Indy, but we had to go single file, spaced out, and was restricted to 25-30 mph. Even at that it was a great day.

Yeah - there was a pace car on the first lap and last lap - I didn't see it on the second lap (after everyone started picking up speed). He probably decided that retreat was the safer option... But 25 or 30 mph would have consigned us to the apron - you can't stay on a 24-degree banked turn at anything under about 50 (and even that is a bit of work)... But yes, any excuse to run around a track is great, and Indy would be awesome...
