It's hard to be happy for those 12 when you are in the upper 1500s on your confirmation number! It will be fun to start seeing a few more around our area.
We DID have a conversation about confirmation #'s while I was there. I know some don't want to hear this but I found out that some reservationists didn't wait as long as some ARE WAITING, meaning I'm still waiting even though my reservation was made almost a year ago and some individuals that reserved AFTER me picked up their cars yesterday at the same dealer. So, maybe your car will be here sooner than expected. You never know.

how about upper 1600s? I have a very long time to wait.
As we have discussed in the past, I am holdoing a #1401. Do you know which #s got delivered on Saturday. What # are you holding?
Brad had me call Smart the other day due to he does not see my name at all on his sheet for the next several months and he thinks I should be on it. They want me to wait a weeka nd see if it changes now that the dealership has opened up. I will see, I guess.
Jeff - Was his computer system up and going the other day? It is now if it wasn't then. I'm a #1340 (Sep 6) and from the way he was talking there are post 1340's coming in. Said he talked to Smart and they said it was insignificant - maybe they are going by actual addresses (zip codes) that do have and do not have Smarts already in them. I've heard tale of a Smart in my area that I've never seen that is owned by a Dry Cleaners wife - that could be what bumped me down on the list as I am out in BFE.
Still, it does look as though I'll get my car almost dead on 12 months.
I sure wish that the address thing was true, but I do not think so. I am the only one in a huge radius. I also live in BFE. Sycamore, Alabama and I know that when I call smart, they have told me that I am the only one in my Zip. I am going to wait the week and call Smart back and see if they can give me a prediction. My question ( and Brad's also) is why did my DDE move forward steadily till it was to Aug - Oct 2008 then all the sudden a couple weeks ago jumped to April - June 2009. I guess I have awaited for this long and can wait longer. You certainly ordered before me. I ordered November 4, 2007 and reserved in April. I will let you know what I hear.
Glad to hear that the B'ham dealership is open. That's a lot closer to Tuscaloosa than Atlanta for service, etc. I'll have to stop by the next time I'm in the area. Maybe with a few more on the road in Central Alabama, I won't feel like a marketing rep every time I park! Traded a Ford Excursion w/ 200,000++ miles getting 9 mpg for our blue Passion. It is great fun!

I thought for a minute that Tuscaloosa would have gotten the Smart dealership with the Mercedes plant right there in Vance. But I'm glad we got it.
Picked mine up yesterday from Brimingham. Brad and Mark were friendly and courteous. It only took about an hour to take delivery. While we were there about 3 different people came in wanting to buy the cars on the lot. They didn't know they were spoken for. Brad even said when they were unloading the cars off the truck people were actually standing outside "picking out" which car they wanted to buy. Amazing isn't it?! In just the 1st two days he said they had around 25 test drives. Glad I finally got mine. It was worth the wait. Reserved on July 12, 2007 and I was never given a reservation number, but I'm sure I was around 1288 or so. Hope that helps some of you guys out.

Mike, I'm hoping that they start assembling them at the Vance plant. I've talked to the dealers in Atlanta & Jackson, MS and they both say they could sell 100 a month, if they could get an inventory.
