Smart Car Driving Experiences

Picked up the car in Cary on 1/23/08 Yellow Passion with Silver metallic cell. All options but foglights (forgot them).

1. First night I drove to the Canes Hockey Game. Pulled into the lot and parked next to a Navigator. Was asked if I pedelled my way in or not. Asked who made the car....Being a Smart Alec I said MB (well sort of true). They replied that their Navigator was made by Lincoln. Not so I replied...FORD :<) :<)

2. I did not expect the coed's waving at me as I drove down the Hillsborough Street (opposite NCSU). Now I am overweight and past 60 so I know it wasn't me.

3. Went to the Symphony and came out to see people taking pictures of the car on their cell phones.

4. My wife reports that notes have been left on the car.

5. My wife said that she was chased (maybe a bit of an overstatement) by a 4 X 4 with "huge" tires. Just wanted to get a picture next to the cute "little" car.

6. A coworker gave me a plastic lottery scratch off keychain as an ice scraper.

Got an orphan today!

Gonna give it a good home. ;)

Got a call this morning and drove it home this afternoon! Its a Black/Silver/Red Passion with instrument package and power steering. Love it so far. Bob Neill Mercedes/smart in Winston-Salem was great to deal with as was my salesperson Mark Kendall.

Nevis;

Our Black/Silver was sitting right next to yours at Bob Neil this afternoon. We had a little snafu with the license plate mount. Bob Neil is delivering the car to our home on Monday.

Excellent service and the deal was effortless

Hey C-G,

Yes, I saw your smart there too. I drove mine about 70 miles tonight, from Hwy 150 in Winston out 52 to 85 and made a flip flop in Salisbury and came home via 150 from 85 through Davidson County. I especially loved the Hwy 150 2 lane drive. Interstate was a little bumpy at 65-70 and the 50-55 on the 2 lane was perfect and fun. Hope you enjoy yours! Was yours an orphan too or did you order it? Have fun next week.

We were back at the Cary dealer last night and they were just loaded with smarties. At least 8 were on the lot. More than we've ever seen there.

Unfortunately we were there to pick up ours after leaving it to get the engine light checked out - will post that under the appropriate thread.

We purchased our Smart on Saturday, the dealer had to deliver it to my home on Monday due to a license plate issue. However, I flew out of town on Sunday afternoon. So our Smart is sitting at home in the driveway and has not been driven. I am looking forward to getting home later this week.

Hey CG-Sure am happy to hear about your "Smart purchase". What was your reservation number and confirmation date? I am waiting patiently here in Burlington and trying to figure out when I might get that infamous e-mail.
