Thanks, DeInNC, for the update on Cary lot as well as your experience. I hope they get it straight before mine finally arrives! I have been dealing with Joe Lynch there, no female contacts yet, but he has been good through email.

As far as delivery from Baltimore, Joe had told me (Jan 14) that my car was in port in Jacksonville, but cargo tracking by VIN# from another thread shows the car in Baltimore since 12/13... ????? I sent that info to Joe yesterday, he only responded to ask how I had tracked it.

I think the thread you got the site from said it was only good for Baltimore port. I wonder if any vin number would work if they have the same I don't know four numbers? Since we are trying to track alot of cars from the same place made almost the same time that the variation in vin numbers is hard to find. We need to find the site that has Jacksonville port info on it. Then again, will it say 12/13 too?

Earlier today, I was over the the Smart Center in Winston and they indicated they should have a handful of cars showing up from the port any day now. They have allegedly arrived, but are still going through their pre-dealer inspection. I understand all of the cars are going to be delivered and none are expected to be orphans.

Also, saw a white passion running around Greensboro/High Point today. It looked really good and was quite interesting to see the true size of the car in comparison to the huge SUV's around it.

I am here in Burlington. Have been to Cary and spoke with Joe Lynch. Seems llike hes a pretty good fella. I reserved on Sept 1 with a 1339 number. Guess I got a while longer to wait. Hey absevnteen in Charolotte-Have you heard about a company manufacturing the motors and drive train for the Smart EV? Supposed to be somewhere in Mooresville? Any truth to that?? Let me hear from you.

just for grins and giggles I did try varying the VIN# somewhat from that the dealer had given me...and entering into the cargo tracking site for Baltiore..my number showed for the Baltimore port, others showed as an error. Of course this random number is likely not an actual VIN. Would be interesting to try the VIN# from a vehicle actually delivered to Jax...

I received a call from Joe Lynch at Cary today, my car is in! Alas, today is a bank holiday so I cannot get a cashier's check, but tomorrow the little fella should have a new home. I don't know who else is waiting from Cary, but Joe said they got 4 customer cars, including mine. Cary also finally got their last 2 dealer cars. Best wishes to all, I will post how the transaction goes.
