South Carolina here

Thought I'd check out this site. We have dual citizenship. Charleston South Carolina and Swannanoa North Carolina. Since Baker wasn't open in Charleston and I was one of the first to order so I was happy to head down to Jacksonville to pick up my white and silver passion. It's unreal - bikers try to talk to you at stoplights - Semi's slow down and hang off your stern in the passing lane. Had someone photograph me on I-95 bringing her back to Chas. Time to show it off. Heading to IOP, Sullivan's Island, Mt. P and .....

I configured in early Oct. & picked it up March 1st. I looks you will be up soon and will be lucky enough to have only to travel to Baker in Chas. He should be opening up in April sometime. Your time is drawing near!

Welcome Aboard!

Commander, good to see you on this site.

Hope all went well down in Jacksonville. Looks like I'll be picking mine up this coming Tuesday or Wednesday (11th or 12th of March). It arrived over the weekend at smart center Seattle and it's being prepped, inspected, and a few 'doo-dads' are being placed on. I hope to see your avitar from CSC over here too.

"Cheers!"

LorbeerTLC - remember to vary your speed and don't rev too high. The smart has a 1000 mile break in period. And thanks for the comments. As far as the avatar - I'll have to figure that out.

Commander Cody

Let me know how you work out on I-26 between Charleston and Orangeburg exits. I use that route two times each weekend. I usually run 77 to 80 most of the way with cars always passing. At 70MPH, I am a little concerned. Usually most of the traffic is between I-95 and Orangeburg; from I-95 to Charleston, it is usually lighter.

Have a safe trip to Asheville this weekend.

Frustrated in SC

Checking in on this thread since I'm in Charleston.

I'm probably near the top of the reserve list (reservation #1180) and confirmed in Oct. '07, but no 30 day, no phone call, talked to Jacksonville & Baker Motors & SmartUSA. No real info, simply told "it's on it's way" from headquarters, no vin #, nuthin'!

I'm feeling cheated!

Baker says they'll get 8 cars in April, 20+ in May, hopefully in line for one of the 8....

If anyone gets more info, please do tell!

I am with you

Reservation #1184

Nothing from PAG or Baker about my reservation. I am waiting until early second quarter before I start some inquiries since other posts here tend to agree that calling SmartUSA gets you nothing but the standard canned speech. I am probably not in the first 8 since some of those will have to be demos; so I will be in the next 20. Not sure about that either.

Hang in there brother! Looks like I'll be at 900 miles by the time I hit I-26 this Fri. so I should be able to fly with the pack. Things relax after the turnoff to Greenville/Spartanburg to Asheville. Here's hoping the Saluda grade doesn't nail me. Hit the bottom going 90 and be at 10mph at the top. Just kidding.
