Subforum?

Do you need another subforum?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys and gals,

If you find the need for another subforum in the South Region, please start a thread and once it is large enough we will turn it into a sub-region!

Thanks,
SMART

I would think that DE, MD, DC, and VA would be better identified as "Mid-Atlantic."

New Mid-Atlantic Chapter/Region

I agree
I think it was you that mentioned on another thread that most Government agencies and even the National Geographical society refers to this region as the Mid_Atlantic Region.

But I would be inclined to also include North Carolina and West Virginia in the group. So making the region from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia and North Carolina.

So maybe the Admin could create for us a new Mid-Atlantic Chapter/Region and move all the threads referring to the states in the region to it.

The reason that I grouped those that I proposed is because of their natural cultural connections, and geography. The region is pretty much bounded by Delaware Bay & River to the north and the James River, VA to the south, just north of the NC line. MD, D.C. and the Chesapeake in between. NJ, north of the Delaware River is definitely Northest industrial, and NC is most identified with SC; definitely the agricultural South. WV, dunno, but for myself, I wouldn't get parochial about it; it is a similar latitude but without the unique climate east of the Blue Ridge.

Oh I agree with you with the Mid_Atlantic region, it could be just MD, DC, DE and VA. West VA could be either in the Mid-Atlantic or the Central North Region. Which btw its also not defined here.

Maybe we should use the official US Census Map (but have Mid-Atlantic separate from the South Atlantic Region)
