06 Smart Fortwo not auto shifting

Goodmorning,

I am hoping this is where I post a question like this, being my first post. I have an 06 Fortwo that the auto part of the transmission does not work. We have been using it as a manual shift and would like to fix it. No one around here has any info on it and the dealer is useless here. Thanks for taking the time to help me or directing me to the information I need.

I'm not trying to be an idiot however, you do have the softtouch option?
If yes, sometimes the button can be broken or slightly misaligned.
Here's a link for the broken button repair...

I took the soft touch button out to inspect like the link you sent shows. The button seems OK. I manually depressed the little micro switch and can not hear any clicking of any sort. I did take it for a ride after and it seems to shift now. Who knows?? I'll try it for a while and see. Thanks for the suggestion/info.

Ours was intermittent and usually required several pushes to get the A to illuminate
on the display. Upgraded to a Brabus metal version and haven't had the problem since...
