Yeap that is what I use- have couple of quarts in the garage.

My Miata had GL5 in it - what crap - once I switch to Motorcraft GL4 the transmission was smooth.

Not so sure a change of fluids is going to make the smart's transmission change all that much.

But give it a try and let us know if it truly is noticable, not just precieved better
