Jim - the reset is to 10,000 miles or one year - which ever comes first. So if you reset at 4200 miles the next maintenance would be due at 14,200 mi. or one year from the reset.
Mine just came up last month - took me almost a month to get the indicator reset to take. Changed oil after one year at only 3688 miles - and it was pretty dirty, too - so ready for a change.

Big sigh of relief!!

After resetting the trip odometer 152 times, I finally got the indicator reset!!!!!

That 24 mm drain plug was the real issue. I had no idea it was that big, and had to go door to door asking my neighbors for a socket! But after all was said and done, I got my $19.99 DIY oil change from Auto Zone!
