Remember a year ago? How long we felt we had been waiting? How frustrated and impatient we were becoming as we waited for the dealers to be confirmed and the boats to start sailing? How anxious we were to get our delivery and our time spent cargo tracking, calling dealerships, ranting about smart USA etc, etc?
But finally in Jan and Feb we began to recieve our cars and begin our journey as the early adopters that were quick on the computer keys on March 19 of 2007.
Why does it seem like the period of March of 2007 to Jan of 2008 was so long and the past year has passed so quickly? Amazing how an anxious wait seems to slow down time.
And now a year later so many continue to wait for their cars. Believe me we can relate and we feel your pain.
Anyone planning a 1st birthday for their smarts? Any dealers having a celebration of their opening a year ago? Any regrets about being an early adopter?
I'm happy I got in early and love my smart which has so far been problem free and continues to serve me well and attract a lot of attention.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi to all of you, some have been quiet since recieveing their car and others remain active but happy birthday to all of those first smarts and best wishes to all that have come since and to all those that continue to wait.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Boy, you got it, Jwight! I could not have said it any better than you! I, too, love my smartie and have thoroughly enjoyed using it this past year ....always with a smile on my face, too. The wife uses it whenever she can get to it before me....

...... she loves driving it as much as I do ....but she likes it's fuel efficiency more than the notoriety driving it brings...that doesn't seem to affect her at all like it does me. I'm a ham that way I guess...I like to be identified as an early adopter and certainly have no regrets about being one.
I hope to become an early adopter of a smart PHEV or EV some day soon, too. Time will tell but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
You all have a great Thanksgiving as well!
