$14.97 cargo solution

I picked up a Sterilite 'Underbed box' from Wally World today. It's 39.5x20.25x7 inches and fits in the cargo area just right. I held my breath til I put it in, since I couldn't remember the dimensions when I spotted the thing. But, I figured, it's Wally World, if it doesn't fit I would take it back.

It almost fills the cargo area, very nice fit. Doesn't need the wheels though. And, the lid meets some resistance when attempting to open it in place in the Cabrio. That might not be a concern in the Coupe since there is more room there.

I think I'll likely use it without the cover. It serves the purpose of keeping stuff from rolling under the seats ... at a bargain price.

Does it come in any other colors? I have the coupe and would prefer a color that people can not see what is in the box. It would keep them from being tempted to break in and steal it. It looks like an affordable solution to the problem.

I can't say for certain, but I've never seen Sterilite in anything other than that translucent white.

You mean you dont want the 299.99 cargo thing they offered you at the dealership. I actually laughed about that.

i have a similar solution I use in my Rogue, a cheapo white box I got at walmart for $6.99, sure beats paying $2000 to go up 1 trim level which has an integrated box.

Worst case - get a $5 can of Krylon Fusion spray paint, and do a custom job to match your smartie...

Eh? My car has every standard option offered at configuration. No integrated box was on the list. Must be something new for the 2009 model year ... or are you referring to something like BE.SMART mentioned above, available from the dealer? It is irrelevant to trim level.

But, yeah, I'd rather go for a $15 solution than a $200-300 dollar solution. At least, til I figure I've got money to burn.

Or, if the white box seems too tacky for a hot date, remove it for the duration.
>>I had to change the wording of that last phrase.
