I live in Utah, and have had the best luck with Alberton's of all places. The 91 has been great. I drive around 2000 miles a month for work, highway and in city, and have been ranging anywhere from 40-53mpg.

I have the same issues as Smarteepants. I live in Northern Utah, and I have around 9000 on my 09 and my mileage is getting worse, not better. It is amazing when you read all the threads how much of a variance there seems to be in fuel economy. I understand that it is dependent on how one drives, but 65 to 75 mph should not drop your mileage from what some people are saying is 41 plus to 32.

I recently drove 300 miles round trip from the Seattle area up over Stevens Pass (4000ft) to Wentachee and back and averaged 42mpg.

I find my normal commuting mileage has been improving every tank since I got my UltraGauge (currently right around 41mpg).

Have you check your air filter lately. Past folks with plummeting fuel mileage have found clogged filter.

Winter blend gas and cold temps don't help either

If I run 75mph on the highway I get about 38.5 MPG if I run 65 mph I get about 41 mpg I was told for every 50 pounds in your car you lose 5% mpg and for every 10 mph you increase you lose 10% mpg. not sure how true that is though.

It would be interesting to know how many of the early repliers to this thread still have their cars, are still putting the long miles on them, and what kind of mileage they are reporting now. Has anyone who has to drive their car 75 miles a day commuting or more reported or updated their status 3 years later now?

I commute 140 miles round trip 4 days a week in my '08 Cabrio (work from home the other day). The drive is a mix of rural two-lane canyons and four-lane highways. I try to stay below 65 mph and have been consistently getting 42-45mpg (premium fuel). I have 20k on the clock.

I never thought I would look forward to a commute that long, but the smart makes it fun.

I'm doing 100 mile round trip four days a week on state roads at 55-60 mph. Winter is getting me about 40-42mpg and 42-44 in summer with A/C. 44-46 in the nice months with no need for a/c and no cold temps. On long trips doing 70-75 mph with no a/c I get about 39-41
Fuely statistics suggest that most are getting about 38 mpg overall.
