I am a mid Fl 2005 Smart Passion owner. Bought new has 7500 miles, lousy dealer support, but the only problem I have had is the gas cap. If I don't heavily lubricate the seal it acts like a loose cap and you think the engine is leaving the vehicle. I have had no sucess in communicating this problem with the dealer. Any advice or knowledge of a dealer to be in FL between Orlando and Ft Lauderdale. Paid too much but love the car.
We lost our gas cap on our 2005 and replaced it with a generic from Auto Zone. It's worked great. If your problem is the cap itself, the Auto Zone option is under $10. If you buy a new cap and it's still loose, then the problem may be in the threads of the fuel entry tube and that's more serious, but G&K may be able to help you. Call them at 714-545-9503.
