#19-a mandatory accessory?

If you don't order the cargo privacy cover, accessory #19 in the brochure, there is nothing to keep items in the cargo compartment from sliding forward onto the console when braking. As delivered there is NO front wall to the cargo compartment, this makes it easy to reach for things back there, but everything ends up on the floor around your feet at the 1st hard stop.

The privacy cover includes a front panel for the cargo compartment and has two net pockets on the front side to stow things that need to be accessable to the driver or passenger. There is also a retractable cover to hide your valuables from sight.

These are still back ordered at my dealer along with the floor mats, but should be in soon. Other buyers might want to consider this when picking up their cars as these are supposed to be dealer installed. Although, how hard can it be to do yourself?

About as hard as putting it into place and attaching the Velcro bottom flap to the cargo area floor. Comes out just as easily, too, when you want to put even more stuff in the back.

There also is another cover available that has a floor to ceiling net between the seats and the cargo area.

The cargo cover is a really nice accessory. It doesn't need to be dealer istalled, it's made to be removed and reinstalled anytime you need. In fact, there are two mounting locations, the high normal one and a lower location that just keeps it out of the way if you're trying to carry something big.

There is a net pack for 60. that keeps small stuff back there and you can make all sorts of things with a little Velcro they stick to the rear firewall and the lower seat backs. There is an amazing amount of storage in the car

Yeah, all of our hatches came with a cover too - that is quite high a price for something that is no doubt very simple.

As for the nets, you might want to look at motorcycle bungie nets, we picked one up and found that it worked fine in the Mini and it was very cheap. I think there are also generic car ones for pockets that can be affixed.
