Hi, I have the opportunity to purchase a 2001 smart car for around $9,000. Is this a good deal or should I just wait for a new one? The car is in great shape and looks fantastic. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Not knowing if "My House" is in the US, make sure the 2001 has been DOT certified or you will probably never be able to get it insured or registered. Pre-2007 [450] smart fortwo's were not DOT certified without being reworked a couple of importers.

Just to be on the safe side: submit the VIN to your insurance. That's where you may get some surprises.
As for 450 vs. 451, or Mercedes vs. Mitsubishi engines? That depends of the eyes of the beholder, and the thickness of your wallet...
