I am in the unique position to compare the 2008 Pure to the 2009 Pure. Things I have noticed are, The interior coloring is a bit different, Transmission does seem to work more smoothly, Suspension doesn't seem to bounce as much, the seatbelts don't lock as quickly as my 2008 (which is a good thing). These are of course my opinions, and do not reflect on anything more than that.
My other car, if I leaned forward to see around a passenger, the seatbelt would lock and just about strangle me unless I moved very slowly. This car, if I move real fast, it locks.
I also noticed the rear window opens a little tougher, my 2008 was much smoother, but it did leak water so,???
Overall, I'd say the 2009 is a bit nicer than the 2008, but I'd still have either one.

I think, with the exception of the transmission, what you may be noticing are manufacturing variations between the two vehicles. I have personally seen a couple of very subtle improvements between the '08 and '09 cars, but the suspension is identical between the two, and the seatbelts should be also.
Do you own an '08? If so, I strongly suggest you bring it in for the 2.0 update, which will bring the transmission software up to '09 specs, and also include some other fixes depending upon your installed options.
Personally, with my experience driving All Ball (a late 2008) and a 2009 loaner for an extended period of time, I prefer A.B. Of course, I'm biased, but aren't we all?

He lost his '08, it was a real flamer so smart replaced it for him.
I hope you have better luck with the '09. I think you'll begin to notice that the new car seems to "break in" as time goes on and miles pass, and soon everything will feel just right.
I'm not saying anything is wrong, just noticed some subtle changes. as for pictures, well it looks identical to my 2008. so a picture will pretty much be redundant. The seat belt issue was a sore spot on my other car. I felt it locked up too soon, but heard that others were the same so I just tried to get used to it.
I did get the 2.0 update and it did make a differance. Since I have a Pure, the paddle shifting is kind of a lost point (no paddle shifters on a Pure) But I loved my 2008 and I love my 2009 even more!! mostly because I know how hard they worked to get it for me in time for the Rally.
I am getting a little less amused by my son's reference to songs with Smoke, and Fire in the lyricks...He and his mom are working on new words for Smoke on the Water(Deep Purple classic) renamed Smoke on the Floormats ...Real funny guys!!!

Great to hear. I never use my paddles anyway, and I've found myself accidentally switching to manual mode on more than one occasion. When I do want to shift on my own, I use the console gear selector. Best wishes for the '09.
