275 miles on first tank of gas

Got my smart 3/19/08 with a full tank of gas. I put 275 miles on it already. The reserve light is blinking now. Is the gas tank 7 gal 1 gal reserve that would = 39 miles to the gal or is it 8 gal with a .5 gal reserve that wpuld make it 34.39 miles to gal? Also are you all using 91 octain?

Hello, I use 93 octane here in North Carolina. smart says at least 91.

Gas tank is 8.7 gallons empty and 1.3 gallons reserve. so until the light comes on you should have used 7.4 gallons. Hope this helps. Have fun!

got mine yesterday, have about 280 miles now, light started blinking, but i think i may wait till 300 just to make the club. first tank!
