2micro4u's tour from Ga to Orlando smart meet

Well I lets say I had me a little tour from Ga to Orlando Florida.
My goal was to get to the big 1st annual Meet in Orlando for smart. The plan was to leave Atlanta go to Destin, Panama City and then Orlando, Fl.
1st I jumped in the Smart and me and my friend Jon headed down to Destin stayed there for a while ate at my favorite I-Hop, took pics pics and more pics of the smart and the scene in Destin on the gulf. The drive from Atlanta to Destin took me about 7 hrs. I did not want to cruise at 90 because I wanted to play it safe to have more money for fun than giving it away to pay a speeding ticket. Well after driving in Destin with the smart I went on down to Panama City Beach and that was about a 1 hr drive but well worth it because I was headed to the 1st annual Smart Meet in Orlando after Panama City Beach.
Well I will let the pictures speak for them self. I will say is I was acting a nut ...grabbing shots of me having alittle too much fun hanging from things like Im spiderman at an abandon Mini Put Put course...lol.. I checked in to the Days Inn Hotel that had a Beach Front view on the top floor. That hotel was nice but the part that sux was the breakfeast.I found out just in time that the bagels where expired and old...im so happy I looked at the date of the package at the breakfast bar before taking a bite.
Later that day I went driving and being crazy as I am .... I just had to get a shot of my smart on the shore. Well in the process ...yea I got stuck in the sand....lol Thank God my car comes with Tow hooks.. and I had a random guy who look like he was in the military wearing camo shorts with knife scars all in various places no joke and a hole in is neck. But He was helpfull and pulled us right out. I was very thankful for that dude helping us out.
Later that night decided to go out and have some fun so me and Jon went to check out the scene and then we went to Club Lavita which is known as one of the biggest clubs on the east coast. It has 7 different rooms with different music in each room. It has 3 lounge areas a bar in each room and a swimming pool in the center of the club. The cover was high but was well worth it to check it out.
Next day at last I cruised on down to Orlando to attend the 1st annual Smart anniversary. Well there was 207 Smarts that attended and that event set a record for the biggest smart meet in the US to date. There was vendors of all kinds a Boosted smart by BPP, the CEO of smart gave a great speech and great info.I meet some cool people, Karens, BRobers, BABYBENZ, Whitch, the guy with that red cool looking smart with the surfboard on top, Kermit Smart, and more. Of course there was BBQ being served for all owners and then we went on a cruise around the Disney and the back gates of it. We even passed Shaqs house.

To top off the evening a handful of the smart owners and myself went to Disney City and ate at the TREX all I can say is that restaurant was hot. The walls have a different theme all through out the restaurant. One room is Stone age that has iced walls that changes colors, another is the rain forest, and they even have life size dinos that move and make all types of crazy noises. It was like Jurassic park in a sense.....
After all the fun was over I had to cruised on back to Atlanta just in time to report to work Monday morning. Needless to say I left Orlando at 7pm and arrived home after dropping off my friend at 4am then I arrrived at my desk at work just at 9:30am. Was I tired....ohh yea but again it was worth it all and I would do it all again.

Heres the slideshow and some video clips.

Nice photos! Makes me remember when I was down at Ft. Rucker, AL and all of my trips down to P.C., Destin, Ft. Walton, etc. Too bad it had to be SO far away from Washington state! :>) Looks like a good time, for sure! Thanks for sharing! Sorry to hear about your bad experience in that soft Florida sand. Spent half a day trying to get "unstuck" in 106 degree heat once. Just about required a visit to the ER by the time I got out! :>( Very fortunate that some friends came by with a big pickup truck and a tow rope. If not, I'd probably still be there! :>)

Looks like a fun time~!

Hey Jonathan - great pictures, guy. I love that part of FL - I used to live in Ft. Walton Beach (up the road from Destin) and lived on the beach whenever I could.
Nice looking ride, too - I like the wheels you've added, great touch. . .

Sorry I didn't say too much for which I feel horrible as you were a whole 2 cars over from me!!! I wish we would of got name tags (which later I noticed some people did have them - I didn't, SCOA nametags may have helped ). Big question is, how did you fit those rims in there for the trip down.?My dad was eying them hard - he REALLY REALLY wanted them!

The even more sorry thing about it was you came right through my town headed to Destin. Most likely you blinked and missed it.

At least you got stuck from what it looks like trying to drive down real close to the water. Best way to get those pics is there are a bunch of parking lots that are full of sand and gives the illusion you are on the beach (with the dunes in the background). You won't sink that way. Don't feel bad - I've even got stuck in 4WD's out there.
