The 300 Club

Okay so I have been trying to get 300 miles out of a my Smart gas tank before I fill up. I keep missing by a little bit. Now based on some of my number I would have hot 300 had I not filled up too early. I was so close with my most recent attempt. I only got 282 miles with 1/2 a gallon left (34.7 mpg) I think I would have gotten about 298 miles. Its not the car because I have gotten better mpg numbers previously. I am sure its my driving style, speed, local driving and traffic that is getting me. But this time I will try harder and watch the gas pedal.

What gets me is that some people are getting 400 miles without a problem. I am such a lead foot.

So has anyone else hit or not hit 300 miles to a tank full yet.

Heres my story: 3rd tankfull on Citgo premium got me 292.2 miles on 8.209 gallons & I had 0.9 left in the tank. (35.68 mpg) Now I'm no math wiz, but that equates to 9.109 gallons total. So is it me or is the guage NOT that accurate?

Hehe... i'll give it a shot, I hate going really low - I am a "fill the car up when its at 1/2" type of gal.

Thats odd, my last fill up was 255.4 miles with .8 left (According to smart), I put in 7.5 gallons, that makes only 8.3 in the tank!! Do we need to squirt a bit more in the tank? My calcuation was 34 mpg avg but the scanguage has been saying 37 mpg avg.

I really want to get to the 300 mark, this last fillup was 94 octane premium, my previous fills were 91.

I would have gone over 300 miles, I filled up at 273 miles, and put in 7.08 gals of gas.

How many miles are y'all getting per 'tick' of the gas gauge? That's my constant game... to see if I can beat my personal best.

I've hit over 300 twice. I wish the smart have a count down thingy to tell you how many more miles you can go before the tank's empty.
