450 or 451?

Seems like a silly question.. and if I could find where I shoved the window sticker I might be able to answer myself... but.. alas.... how do I know if I have the 450 or the 451?

You bought your smart from a Smart Center dealership in America?

If you said "yes" then you have a 451.

If you bought it from canada or another country, before 2008, its a 450.

Forget "Canada or another country", if it is a 2006 or earlier (there are two 2007 US certified), it is a 450. Plus you may STILL buy a new US certified model 450 (less than 500 mi).

Plus, from what I'm reading on this board, the parts for the 450 are a lot easier to get than the 451.

Penske better wake up or he'll wind up as a 'DNF'. I am NOT knocking the car, I am referring to distributor's policies and priorities.

Almost correct: ALL Cabrios have had two tail lights.

Vertical door handles= 450
Horizontal door handles= 451

Just look for the little windows on the upper rear of the car. If you see windows on top of the rear pillar it is a 450. The 451 is solid in that location, without the extra little window.

Again, almost correct:

There is no window behind the pillar on a 450 Cabrio only the coupe.
