At the local conoco station near me they offer 93 w/ ethanol and 90 without ethanol. Now which one gives better mileage?
The Euro W451 Operators Instructions (pg. 269) specifies a minimum of the equivalent of North American 90 pump octane ((95 RON + 85 MON)/2) with no ethanol.
This is interesting, here in Britain I run my smart roadster on superunleaded fuel, Bp is 97 octane, Shell do Optimax which is 98 octane, and Tesco does 99 octane, so the fuel over your way is a lot less volatile than our stuff, but the drawback is our fuel is Ł1.10p a litre, about $2.20, so it is about $8.40 a us gallon according to my conversion table, we are being priced off the road over here, and the bigger the gas guzzler you have got, the more road tax you have to pay, eg, a for 2 is Ł35 a year to keep it on the road, but say a 4.0ltr Range rover is Ł400 for road tax, so that is why smart cars are becoming more popular over here.
Road tax is a tax you have to pay to have your car on the road and you get a disc that goes on your windshield to prove to police that you have payed it, so the bigger the car, the more you pay.

No ethanol? Here in Oregon by law, we now have 10% ethanol year round in all grades of gasoline! Our Prius gets 10 MPG less now than it used to get, when I complain to the gas station attendants that we get 43 MPG instead of 53 MPG I get "well, thats still good"!!

Octane is measured differently - In North America it is pump octane which is MON+RON/2.

Yea, good for the oil companies. Its tragic that we have to take this ethanol in our gas. It should have been a choice. I found out today that the Model T ran both gas and ethanol and got 25 mpg, while today's average car gets 21 mpg! And they had electric cars then too, but liquid fuel was easier. 100 years later and we are less efficient than Henry Ford.
