AAA Road service for smart

Anybody have any suggestions if I should purchase AAA or a smart contract for break down service situation. Got a call from dealer. Saidmy smart will be here soon. Will drive it from NC to CT upon pick up. Any suggestions or recommendations for this long trip?
Many thanks,
Evelyne

You get free roadside from smart for 2 years. Or you can double up and just get a regular AAA membership, but it will cost you extra if you have to be towed a long way from your smart center.

We will continue to keep AAA "Plus" emergency road service for our other vehicle, separately from anything smart provides, but it will cover both. The "Plus" ERS includes a 100 mile towing range. Not as good as smart-1, but smart-1 evaporates after 24/24K.

I have been carrying AAA Plus for several years now, as I am unlikely to ever be within 7 miles (it is 7 miles for regular membership, isn't it?) of my mechanic if I happen to have a breakdown. It may cost me a few dollars more, but for the peace of mind, it's worth it. The couple of times I've used it over the years has paid for it...

We are and will continue to carry AAA. It's saved my butt more than once already.

I just carry the AAA regular, which includes a 3 mile tow. Might upgrade. But the last time I needed a tow to a MINI dealership, it was even more than then 100 miles (we were in west Texas). And AAA charged $4 mile after their limit. I used the Garmin to find another tow drive who only charged $2. So I guess it depends on how far you might need a tow. Figure it out and do the math.
