Cassie any chance your client can give you a copy of the police report (obviously with names and numbers blacked out)?

Tridon

Tridon is the frame, but unibodys ripple when hit, so the damage could be car wide. Only measurements on a rack will tell if the Tridon is still square to itself. The damage to the truck, with it's full frame, is definitely worse than it looks.

Actually, I didn't notice it in the first photos but the last one you can see the front passenger tire is at an angle, making me think there is some suspension damage. Too bad, only having the car two days. I would be miserable. It is encouraging though to see that it looks like the passengers came out ok.

According to my customer the impact bent the strut, a sway bar link and damaged the wheel and wheel bearing which caused the wheel to lean. They are changing the door hinges because it was not closing properly. Repairs should be done by next week.

Although I cannot list individual statistics and reports as the others I did find a web site that listed several wrecked smarts so this would give a person an idea of how well a smart could hold up in a fender bender.

http://www.smartipercy.de/pageID_2341606.html

The web site is in German but I think it is pretty easy to navigate.

I notice that there are a handful that are burned out. Is that an issue, or just lots of Europeans smoking and driving?

Your pal,
Meat.

Tridion Triumphs

What I noticed in the crash pics is, not one had a crushed passenger compartment. Says that the tridion works.

The way the Smarts stands up, the resultant car looks is if it were in a minor accident
