That's a Ferrari! If it was the smart driver's fault I hope he's a got a lot of insurance! Not to be morbid, but the smart looks kinda cute upside down!

hit by a 18 wheeler!!!
A us army 18 wheeler failed to navigate a turn and ran smack dab into the front drivers quarter panel. Being plastic, it bent back against the tire and i have almost no damage. some minor scratches and even though it dreives ok, i think i should have the suspension tested and the tire looked at. of cource, my assessmnet is from a purely cosmetic vantage point. who knows what is lurking within! this is my second incident as a rock broke my windshield on the way home after taking delivery. got that fixed. the dealer charged about 420 for the glass and it was another 175 to install. here is the kicker, i was charger another 220 or so because the said they had to replace the wiper sensor unit! sounds fishy to me. anybody know about that?

Looking at that other site may create an unfair assessment of our vehicles. Remember that our smarts had to comply with NHTSA safety requirements where the European models do not. Therefore, our smarts might have faired much better than some of these. Of course, with the exception of the ones that appeared to have been fire-bombed. Even the US versions lack a Halon system on-board!

Bent tires a big problem to repair?

I notice that smart tires seem to bend when they get in a certain type of accident.

Doesn't that affect a major part of the car? Even repaired it seems like it could be a real problem!

I wouldn't buy a car that had bent wheels repaired. How would that affect resale value?

Obviously I know NOTHING about this kind of thing....just curious

Tarp over cockpit = not very good news for the driver/passenger.

Just a Note

As a moderator I will be watching these accident threads and postings carefully, and will not hesitate to remove overly or unnecessarily graphic submissions. The covered smart is about on the line, though there have been much worse that were removed.
