Don't let anyone tell you different...plain bad luck is the number one killer around the world. Disease and malnutrition are known as "contributing factors."

I have the exact same problem when I drive my motorcycle, people seem to think it's their sworn job to tell me I could be killed!!! No kidding, and I guess people are NEVER killed driving a car!!!

I guess when people see the small size of the Smart, they'll feel it's their sworn duty to tell you you could be killed. At that point, the thing to do is cry, "OH MY GOD, I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN AN SUV, PEOPLE NEVER DIE IN SUV ACCIDENTS!!!" and try not to laugh too hard when you see their reaction...

Last week, a smart member from clubsmartcar.com reported an accident in Germany involving a smart and a SUV. Unfortunately, three occupants in the SUV died and the woman smart driver sustained serious injuries. See his post below.

The photograph in the Germany crash shows the airbags deployed in the Smart and the steel cage in fairly decent shape. Seems like the safety features work.
