"Actual" problems your car has had (so far)

Not including things that could have happened to any car (like a broken windshield) and that aren't the fault of the manufacturer, what problems has your smartie had so far? [And how were they resolved? And who paid?]

Mine (in order):
1. battery was faulty [initially SAM was suspected; all work and new battery paid for by Mercedez/Smart dealership in NYC]
2. headlights set too high [reset twice so far, for free, but I still get brights flashed at me sometimes]
3. door latch, driver's side, failed [replaced by d'ship, but since I was over the warranty, I had to pay the $100 deductible, tho this was offset partially by free nitrogen in the tires]
4. rear window latch failed [cable tightened for free at d'ship]

I also had problems with the gear shifter getting stuck, but some WD-40 took care of that.

It sounds like a lot of tsuris, but on the whole, I'm very happy, especially since it's made for a fun trip and awesome parking.

The only problem I've had with my Cabrio is that I haven't been able to drive it nearly enough. I'll be fixing that problem *really* soon, though...

My ONE problem was roof crazing. There's a thread devoted to it here. Car bought on April 25, 2008 and by early Feb/late Jan I noticed it crazing. Noticed it BEFORE warranty was out but didn't get any positive feedback until after my 24k was up.

Friday I dropped my car off and picked it up yesterday (June 27, 2009) with a NEW roof paid in full by Smart. They recognized there was a problem and fixed it.

I guess you could say lights set too high as a problem, but that is so minor....

Mark me down as a satisfied customer, no other significant problems and I'll turn over 30,000 miles later this week.

Fuel tank display (random 7/8 when full) but not sure that counts as a problem at this point.

My AC drain line had a crack in it, and would drain into the battery compartment. Replaced under warranty at my 10k service. I'd used electrical tape to patch it temporarily.

No other problems requiring service. I think I have a new rattle in the engine/exhaust area, as it's louder when I punch the throttle on a cold engine. I think something's just loosened up.

I think I have the same roof crazing. Being 200-300 miles from a dealer is hard to just drop in for a quick opinion.

I bought mine May 1 2008 and just crossed 8400 miles.
