Bought my 09 Passion Coupe back in December, have almost 4,400 miles on it (I know, I don't drive much), and the only problem I have encountered happened just last week. The TPMS indicator light came on, thought to myself, ugh, picked up a nail somewhere. Stopped to a gas station, looked over the tires, didn't see a nail. Paid my $.75 for air to check all tires were inflated properly and they were. Gonna keep an eye on it to see if happens again, if it does, going to take it to the dealership to have them check the sensors.

Took delivery of our '09 just after they became available, after Thanksgiving '08. Seven months, over 5000 miles. Hasn't been back to the dealer yet. We got the 7/8ths fuel-bar thing a few times early on, and the rear window is hard to latch and can probably use a tiny adjustment when he goes in for the 10k oil change. That's it, knock on wood.

EDIT: just remembered, got the Low Tire Air warning a morning or two in the winter when it was really cold. Cleared it, it went away.

Got my cabrio July '08. Have a little over 10k miles now. Had the 7/8 gas gauge reading (supposedly fixed by dealership, still waiting to see if it happens again), had my windshield fluid "aim" switched so it hit my windshield instead of the car next to me, and had the ABS light turn on randomly. That was determined to be a faulty switch and was replaced promptly by smart.

Can't really complain about anything.

Transmission > intermittent no reverse - when hot

@10,800 miles a new clutch plate in the transmission was replaced by the dealer under warranty.
Since then no problems. Currently I have 12,300 miles on it.

Service advisor said he had replaced this on another 2008 Smart and it solved the problem as well.

Alarm going off day and night........ Repaired by B'ham smart in 2008.

Drivers door latch acts crazy sometimes. Not repaired yet.

Jackson smart says I have the highest milage they service at 33,000 miles.
We are very happy with this auto.

Had the 7/8 full gas tank, but after several fills hasn't done it again. 16,000 miles and that's it. Well there was the time that I didn't close the hatch after an evening of alcohol excess and the battery went dead after having the dome light on for 8 hours. I don't really know who to blame on that one. I think I'll blame Demon Alcohol.
