Adding fog lights

I am writing to ask for advice on how to wire up my new Smart fog lights. I purchased my 2008 Passion with no fog lights and a console panel without a fog light switch. Smart charged $280.00 for the two fog lights, which come with bulbs and bezels. Unfortunately, I was not informed I needed a separate console to power and control the fog lights.

The new console panel (the one with the Hazard light switch directly beneath your radio) costs $200.00 plus! This is crazy. I should be able to just buyt the little switch, pop off the blank panel and install the new switch. Then wire the puppy up. Evidently, this is not the case.

So, I will now wire up the fog lights in parallel with the driving lights. When the driving lights come on (Auto or Manaul), so will the fog lights. How best to wire up the fog lights is my question here.

Will I need a differnet fuse (DC current consideration for the current headlights plus the new fog lights). How do you feel I should proceed, please?

Don't take this the wrong way but the SEARCH FUNCTION might have been the better way to go... there are at least 3 threads that answer your question....

Not offended. Your advice was correct, but

would have been helpful if you had added a brief comment about the SAM programming issue. Without the computer knowing to drive the fog lights, nothing will happen. I have decided to wire the lights using this advice:

Fog Light Wiring with Bosch Relay
