I went and picked up two 2" mirrors, anti glare blind spot made from Autozone for 3.50. They work great. No need for fancy when you have simple cheap and works great.

Head bump

So, have you bumped your head on the a-pillar trying to see out

I'm used to an F-350, so I have to watch moving quickly in the Smartie cockpit! LOL

I can't see the parking lot stripes while backing. I've knocked my head trying. The round mirrors let one see these stripes. Slightly different application from the wide angle mirrors that started this thread. Also, the inside mirror isn't great because it's so narrow and the seats obstruct even a normal "blind spot" view.

What do you guys think about the convex, clip-on rear-view?

I have one in my current car and it gives me a great side view, but wonder about it's effectiveness in a smart...so many complaining about the stock view being blocked by the tall seats...

convex rear-view

I don't think you'll be able to see any more than with the stock mirror. The seatbacks block the view. It does take a bit of getting used to, that you can turn your head and see the back of the car! LOL

Like 'mrc59', I don't think this solution would improve rearview from its central location. Not only the seats backs are in the way, but the OEM mirror is already big enough to cut much of the above head traffic lights view as it is.
