Has anyone used there car to advertise? I have been approached by a local company with a request that they would like to advertise on my smart, but I have no idea what to charge or what type of contracts need to be drawn up. if anyone out there can help I would be very grateful.

You are lucky someonen found you. Trying to find someone to let me post stuff on my car around here in Austin is a pain. Figure I get an extra buck or two. Not sure how much a company would pay you, but I am assuming if you drive all over, they should pay you at least 60 - 80 a month minimum. But that is just a guess from me.

I talked with a business about this on mine, they offered 3,000 a month plus they would pay for wrap and when done with two year they would paint or put wrap of my choice on free if charge still debating if should or not. They want it done beginning jan. Had to do over 800 miles of driving a month they told me

Wow, 800 miles, and 3k. Nice. Sounds like real good deal. Would pay for your car real quick. I drive 800 a month just driving to work. So I would qualify easy.
They should pay for a second set of pannels, pay to have them wrapped, pay to put on and pay to swap them back when the contract is done.
All this plus a monthly fee to drive and more if they expect you to hand out info when someone asks you about the add or Smart.
They also should cover extra liability insurance because if something happens and you hit someone there is a good chance you might get sued.
Don't forget you should also be able to expense car washes, and if you go to the same place every time you may be able to negotiate 1/2 price for 1/2 a car on the wash.

In it's earlier years, smart Switzerland would match a car and an advertiser. The latter would pay for the wrapping, the full maintenance of the car, and the de-wrapping (or re-panelling) when the owner wanted the car out of the deal. And the advertiser would throw in the free parking on its premises...
Just to give you an idea.
Wow, you found someone. I would have to drive much more, but I still get around. And if I had to drive 800/mo I would ask that they help with the service contract. Maybe not. at 3k /mo thats good. Then again, how much gas are you using?

Ok Jedi, simple math P.
800miles, approx 40mpg average for smart. so that is.
800 / 40 = 20 Gallons. Hmm, so at worse case $3 a gallon, $60 bucks for 800 miles. not too bad when you get $3,000.
I would not allow just anyone to advertise on my little car; assuming I would do it but the amount being paid seems like it would be worth it. Having to drive 800 miles per month seems like a good excuse to drive my little car everywhere I go and some.
