the hybrid will be in the form of an auxiliary heat source to further expand the compressed air. the electricity will be used to compress the air, either locally (home A/C) or centrally via fueling stations. The heat can be from any burnable source making it a very flexible design for global and developing markets.

Seriously though; a compressed air engine sounds pretty cool. You could have the breaks use some of that energy to compress more air in, and you would have a winner.

I found the smart car and the Air car during the same search about five years ago. I have a pen pal in France, and he's done some research on the Air car. It's legitimate, but it's still in the testing phase. The most interesting thing is the air coming out of the exhaust is cleaner than the air that was compressed going in. I'll continue to watch the progress.
