Alarm confirmation chirps

Hi all,

Just got my car on 1/28/08.

My question: I have the alarm option. Is there a way to disable the confirmation chirps when locking/unlocking the car? My other cars have a specific procedure (in the owners manual) to accomplish this. I have looked in the smart manual.

Thanks,
Bob

I've been told that only the cars with the alarm option chirp when locking/unlocking.
I'd still like to silence the darn thing if anybody has an idea.
(In other words "bump")

I got the alarm installed afterwards, and asked the installer about it, he told me that if I wanted to turn off the honking when unlocking or locking I should turn the engine, on then off, and push a blue button (down by the alarm indicator light) three times. I haven't tried it yet.

Hi SmartyPants, did you have the dealer put your alarm in? I didn't order it and regret not having done so. I thought the dealer could not put it in. Hoping they can. thanks.

Blue button? I tried that with all 3 (black) dash mounted buttons related to the alarm and locks, but no joy. Did you have the "factory" alarm installed by the dealer?
