All this attention is so cool / I missed my smart!

For over 15 years now the wife and I go to a high-end hand car-wash in Sherman Oaks, many times voted one of the best in L.A. Lot's of personalities and particularly the mega-bucks cars to gawk at while you wait. First it was the Mini that got the stares - but this smart, damn!

So yesterday, someone from a long-time running HBO series is giving the car a serious looking over, approached and asked me about it for about 5 - 10 minutes. They had test drove one and are strongly considering purchasing. Concerned about the long wait time to own, but I told them about going on a wait list (and yet another referral to my dealership - hey where is my commission ?!?). Don't want to mention their car, but let's say it's easily over $100K. At one time I would have loved to own that car, but honestly and I do mean honestly, the smart car has changed me and I only had eyes for her.

Having not driven for 5 weeks due to a hip replacement, yesterday I couldn't wait to reclaim my smart from my wife (she's back to her Mini S) and immediately driving my smart put a smile on my face. I LOVE THIS CAR!

Bump! You see, it was a T.V. personality approaching me . . . not the other way around . . . and well, they thought my smart car was kind of cooler than their expensive car, see, and then I didn't even ask for an autograph or tell them I watched them on the show . . . Oh well, I'm sorry, I thought this was kind of neat and wanted to share .

Kinda like the day I passed a Ferrari 360 Modena at the mall and They were eyeing our smart as much as I was eying theirs.. Of course I probably had more drool but it was a red ferrari!
