Am I missing something or does the radio have a huge omission?

Does anyone know how to seek stations backward? I've read the manual and tried everything and I still don't know if its possible. I hate having the radio scanning stations and if I want to return to the previous station I can't do it automatically. I have to manually hit the back arrows until I find the station.

If its not possible, I thinks its a huge omission for any radio.

As far as I know there isn't a "reverse" seek/scan on many factory radios. I know my Sentra's factory systems couldn't do it.

My old Grand Vitara radio had a "reverse" seek button and so did the 10 yr old aftermarket radio in my Honda CRX.

Normally you press the back arrow for a few seconds until you hear a beep and that will start a seek in the direction of the arrow.

I've never seen a reverse seek. I usually pick a preset station just before the one I was just on, and seek forward until I get to what I want. It's usually 3-4 clicks and with practice you can probably do that blindfolded in heavy traffic. Except for driving blindfolded... that in itself is inadvisable.

Reverse seek or scan?

Most vehicles I've owned will only SCAN in the UP direction, i.e. higher in frequency, lapping to the lower end after reaching the top.

Most will also SEEK both UP and DOWN, depending on which button you press.

Personally, I just set the buttons for my favorite stations. If I want something else, I scan up from the one that is set.

I only ever listen to three stations (all talk radio) and books on CD, so I never use the scan button (forward or back)?
I am not wired to listen to music (born tone deaf), but my son and daughter love my cabrio's upgraded sound system?
