Annoying Chime!

I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this? There is an alarm/chime that sounds when the head lights are left on, the keys are removed from the ignition and the door is opened. In my car the chime sounds for no reason, i.e. I remove the key from the ignition, the lights are OFF and the chime will sound.
The problem does not happen all the time, maybe 2-3 times per week. I have been back to the dealer several times and they say that they cannot duplicate the problem. I finally called Smart Central and they put me in contact with the regional manager. He informed me that this is a common problem and that there is nothing wrong with the car.
I disagree. I paid $20,000 for this car, the chime is annoying and it is a problem to me.
Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do?
Thanks.

Possibly because you don't give the car enough time to shut-down. If you remove the key immediately, the car complains. Try to give it a thad longer, like 1-2 seconds...

...yes... there are some threads here about your issue...it was said, if i remember correctly, that inserting the key back and doing a reset of it, go to #2 back to off has taken care of the chime...maybe try to slow down your shut down process and see what happens...

You know, turn the key, take it out while opening the door, and it chimes...

I dare to disagree: a couple of times, I had forgotten the lights on. It's easier to re-program myself.

My bad, sorry!
I try to not ignore the chime (in case a forget again to turn the lights off, though it usually switches itself to parking lights) but to change by habits so as to avoid the chime in the first place.
Now I'm not sure that the car chimes more than a couple of times when I take the key away too fast. Whereas it chimes for a while when the lights are left on. This one I have to check out.

As for the noodle, I'd like spaghetti carbonara, the best!
