Any Action at Baltimore Docks?

I suspect that there must be a member or two of this forum that lives or works somewhere close to the shipping docks where the Smart Cars arrive. I just wondered if anybody had noticed any 'changes' going on? For instance, I know several hundred cars arrived in this country, but are they still sitting where they were unloaded, or have they been loaded up on car haulers, or railroad cars? Is anything happening now as we speak, or are they all just still sitting in their unloading spots?

I know some have tried to use satellite photos to make this determination, but I thought cars being transported out of that area might be easier to detect. Any spotters out there that can report?

I live about 23 minutes from the docks. That being said, the last 2 times I was around them I saw nothing. From what I understand, that whole area is rather secure - so it is not the place to snoop around.

Not looking for a 'snooper'....just an 'observer'.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not actually asking anybody to go 'snooping'. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that, either. I was thinking more of whether anybody had observed any cars on railroad cars moving down the tracks, or on car haulers, moving across the highways. With several hundred cars to be moved across the nation in short order, I would think SOMEBODY MIGHT just see something out in PUBLIC without having to go over near the actual private property where they are stored. I don't know how 'long' it will take to get the cars to the various dealers, but I would hope they would want to get them there as soon as possible instead of waiting until the very last minute. Sooner or later, they will start arriving.

Onward Transpo

I would think rail would be the best mode for inland/transcontinental transportation. CSX rail serves the Dundalk/Seagirt marine complex. I have looked with interest at standard open auto haulers and see a lot of unusable space if smarts are loaded. I think that if auto haulers are used, they will be the fabric-sided, double-tier types (elevator in the rear) that the high-end cars use (Audi, BMW, M-B).

Lhoboy recently proffered that he was going to sway down to Dundalk with a camera and record the real deal. We haven't heard much out of him lately; maybe the DHS/USCG has him in the clink somewhere for his efforts - marine terminals are nothing to fool around with these days.

Could be something to that. I don't think they give you internet access in Gitmo...

Are there no expectant smartie owners among the Homeland Security crowd, the Customs folks, and another else who protects us?
How can we tell them of the anguish we feel waiting and waiting for our happy little cars to come?
Can't they tell, smarties bring out an ora of obsession in their future owners? An obsession not to bomb, or destroy, or hurt, just to catch a glimpse, and just to smile...

Can we open their minds (and hearts) to this happy little car?

All those lonely little smarties sitting and waiting for the red tape to break and let them free.... to embrace their new owners.

Excuse the frivolous musings. The smartie brings it out in me....
