Now that's a line that could turn this into an X-rated thread real quick.....

I've had so many women (of ALL ages) come up to me and say "What a cute car!" that my wife is threatening to get a bumper sticker that says "I Love My Wife" so those women know I'm taken!

Last weekend while stopped at a traffic light I had someone in a GMC Envoy (SUV) pull up next to me and ask some questions about the smartie. When I told him it was a "smart car" and made by Merc-Benz he said "yeah...with gas so expensive it looks pretty smart to me...I'm the one drivin' the dumb car."

I am new at the Forums stuff so here goes. I got my smart this past saturday, 4-5-2008. OMG! It's nuts. I have met more people in the last 5 days than ever before. The best story is the car with 5 youg girls diving next to me and they are hanging out the windows of the car, call phones in each of their hands taking pictures of the car and all yelling "Oh my God. We Love your car" over and over and over. That is one of 20 stories i could tell. On a different note my engine with 160 miles on it started running ruff. i got home and turned it off. Let it sit and it seems to be ok now. Should i have it checked or see if it does it again.

We just pulled into the garage when the trash truck arrived for the bi-weekly collection. Both of the trashmen exited the truck and said that they just had to look at the car. We gladly showed it to them, both of them were very impressed. They were so nice, even brought the trash barrel up the driveway for us. Unfortunately, they, in their excitement, forgot to empty it.

Don't let others affect your driving

We've all seen it on the highway: People slowing down or speeding up to go next to you to take a peek at your Smart. That happened this weekend with my GF. I was driving ahead of her. I look in my rear view mirror and saw that she slowed way down along with another car that was beside her. I was concerned so I called her on the cell. She said the guy next to her wanted to take a picture so they had to stay at the same speed. Well this hogged two lanes and PO'ed a lot of people behind them, especially with both of them going 55mph.

Lesson that I've learned this past week: Concentrate on the road ahead of you. Don't let others affect your driving even if they are friendly. Give them your attention in a parking lot, not on the highway or you'll soon be part of a crash statistic.

Funny Funny.+

Wife comes out of building and finds a crowd around her car. She talks to them about what a great little car this is. Gets in and finds the shifter stuck in park.

With phone in hand, and Smart service talking her through a fix, people are asking questions and trying to talk to her. They want to know how much she likes the car.

Pulled up next to a new convertible Mustang at a stop light.
Subaru going the other direction yelled "Race him!"
