It's no Toyota.. or Saab, but most people have had VERY trouble free cars so far. Mine- not exactly. It sputtered and broke down on the test drive and has had recurrent engine-light issues.. and it's got just 250 miles. First they thought it was water in the tank on delivery from France.. and it took a week to figure that one out.. but it didn't fix it. Now the engine light has come on intermittently again. Car still drives, but they have ordered a whole new 'engine control unit'.. which isn't in stock. To be continued, but so far I'm really glad I didn't sell our other cars when I got the smart. Want to love it, but at this point, I'd say buy it if you love unique cars and you live near the dealer.. not if you want the most trouble free vehicle on the market.
