Figure how long a piece needs to be to fit in the vertical slot of the seatbelt guide and cut a piece that long...Slit the piece length wise on one side only (please be careful and don't cut yourself, I was able to use a long pointed scissors)...Now slide this piece of hose in the slot wrapped around one side of the seatbelt guide and the problem is solved!!!
Good job Nick! I was waiting for someone to finally mention that. I would of but decided to shut my mouth in complete fear of someone flame me because it goes against proper seat belt operation that is "clearly stated" in the owners manual.

I did as you suggest today. There doesn't appear to be any problem in those regards. Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that most seat belt problems are covered for the life of the car. Can anyone confirm this?

I seem to remember once back in the day that one of my seat belts would not retract anymore, and Honda replaced the whole thing for me for free.

NCC1701 - Definitely contact your dealer if you are having seat belt retractor problems. It's serious and something smartUSA should know about.

Can't post pictures, sorry! Heck, I'm not even able to post the Blackstone Laboratories oil sample analysis that I would like to share with those interested. Really though, it is a very simple and cheap fix for the seatbelt guide.

I have had the same problem with my passengers. Very irritating!
I appreciate the hose fix idea but I can't picture what you're explaining. Can someone else post a pic, or at least explain again?

Look at the seatbelt guide on the top back side of your seat...black plastic guide probably 1/4" thick...there is a horizontal grove where the seatbelt slides thru when pulled out and slides back when retracting back into the seatbelt retainer. In the middle of the guide there is also a vertical slot where the seatbelt can be guided up thru to release it from the guide. This is where you need to slip the plastic hose / tubeing into. Friction holds it in place and blocks the seatbelt from slipping up into the vertical slot and jamming up so it can't roll back into the seatbelt retainer...Hope this helps!

Enormously Nicholas, thanks for the clarification. So all your doing is jamming the opening so the seatbelt can't slide out (and get jammed). Seems like a simple enough fix. I'll try it. Thanks and my husband thanks you too.

skyzdlimit59, glad to share the information...I got so fustrated with the seatbelt "jamming" on me, be it either the driver's side or the passenger's side. Whenever I'm driving the wifes' car I have to have either seat all the way back to be comfortable and I really think this position allows the belt to try to come out of the guide somewhat easier. Since preforming this "fix", I've never had the problem again...
