Wondering what you paid? I am in the market for another smart. I am looking for a pure with a/c. Car will be used almost exclusively on the freeway for daily commute. I live a few blocks from highway, work just off highway on the other end, so I don't think I'll miss the paddle shifters that a passion would have. (Wife'll be driving brabus cab for much shorter commute, also that'll be our primary around town car.)
Anyhow, I found a used '09 locally at a "used car superstore" that has 600 miles on it, has a/c and a stereo; otherwise it's a basic pure. They are asking 11,995 for it. Note that I have not tried to negotiate that down yet.
smart dealer has leftover new '09 pures with a/c, and I am going there saturday to look and talk price. If a new one could be had for somewhere in the high 12s, then it'll be tempting to pay the extra to get new, because I could pick my color up front. Are the dealer's dealing on leftover '09s?
So....wondering what kinda deal anyone got lately on a new pure?
Please share.
Thanks,
Brian
I bought a new fully optioned '09 Brabus Coupe last week...I shopped nationally for approximately 30 days using email inquiries...end up paying $13,500...very competitive market...I was shock how big a discount several dealerships offered...do your home work...and use the email approach!!
Thanks for the replies. I called smart dealer today, in advance of my journey tomorrow morning. They have a few 09s left, qouted phone price of 13,300 with a/c and power windows. I'll see what kinda deal I can get in person. I am also going to see if they have anything slightly used.
I am looking at trading in one of my older vehicles, so that'll factor in also. I'll let y'all know tomorrow.

I bought a white 09 Pure with a black tridon in Nov 09 as a stable mate to my Black 09 Brabus. A/C was its only option and they had to ship it from the port in Jacksonville Fla as they did not have what I wanted in stock. I got a set of factory all weather floor mats for free ($48.00 value) for taking a "test drive". I opted for the 1.9% finance deal available at the time and I paid $13,500.00 out the door... You can probably do better than that now.
I have since purchased and installed a used Smart Radio 10 out of an 09 Brabus from a guy on ebay for $48.00 with the speakers. (This radio is a $460.00 option in a Pure). With the money I saved I installed the following factory smart accessories... A smokers kit, 6 disc CD holder, eyeglass case, cargo nets, and a rear cargo area cover. All purchased from Smart Madness.
My latest mod to my Pure was the addition of a Borla center outlet cat back exhaust system. I love the sound but, It is LOUD!... The quality and workmanship on this system is fantastic... Typical Borla!
Good luck with your purchase... I know you will love your new smartie!
Well, after finding out that the used one at the used car place had a non-negotiable price, we ended up going to smart dealer and buying new. List was $13,300 with a/c and power windows-no radio. Hard to determine final price we paid for the car itself, because we had an older, tired car we traded in- but paid about 12,800 and left with a pure with all weather mats, armrest, and interior protection/ warranty package. I normally don't do those type of protection plans, but I get downright dirty at work, and, although I change clothes for drive home, this'll save me if I accidently trash the seats or something.
Boy, I sure miss a stereo though. Drive home was a long 100 miles. That will get fixed in short order. Dealer qouted 687 bucks for a factory stereo! Ouch! Gonna look briefly for a used one; otherwise, aftermarket. Soon.
In the end, maybe coulda got a better deal at a different smart dealer, but very happy with the folks at smart Milwaukee, so they got my business.

13,500.00 for my Red with Black Pure in August 2009. The car has power windows. A/C, premium floor mats, and a am/fm cd factory stereo. I got 4500.00 off with the clunker deal, and Installed a remote starter to it, about 2 months after I bought the car. I have almost 10000 miles on it and enjoy every minute driving it.
