anyone else have a rattle?

Smart Car (Passion) almost 4 months old now, running like a charm. Not getting the MPG others claim to be getting but I suspect it's because the a/c is own non stop & I have a heavy foot. Not important, haven't hit 1700 miles yet.

Question: I've noticed from the day I got it then when on the bottom end of high gear (5th) and car is laboring just a little bit before I shift down there's a slight rattling noise that's coming from the front right side of dash near the glove box area. I did bring it up with service when I was @ dealer a while back getting the newer, upgraded sun shade installed. They didn't know where to start (I have nothing in the glove box). When I'm pushing the car (either automatic or shifting), I have no problem. It only comes with doing something like 35 or 40 mph either shifting or automatic. I can live with it, just wondering if anyone else had that problem or could offer any clues. Thanks, Ron

i have a buzzy passenger sun visor, and a couple rattles in the back; one of which is the passenger side tailgate cable, the other i can't pin down.

You could try removing the fixit flat repair kit and the battery cover thingy that is located in the passenger floorboard.

I have the buzzy passenger sun visor, too. However, the loudest buzz comes from the rear roof area near the top of the glass.

Welcome to the wonderful world of smart ownership.
Get used to it, or upgrade your stereo, and turn it up loud, problem solved, thank you

rattles n squeaks

I've got a bit over 4000 miles on mine and have a buncha little rattles and squeaks here n there . .. mainly from the rear. I'm used to them and have the radio on and a DTH exhaust so I hardly notice them anymore.

I was also hit by a deer on the drivers side (broke the door turn signal and headlight mount, 300 in parts) and that may have contributed to the rattles a bit too

I have the buzzing sun visor, tip...take the extra brochure (The single page ones...not the books) that the Smart Center gives you to give out to others and put 1 or two up on the visor, it stops the buzz.

both of those are snug fit in stryrofoam... not likely to rattle

Welcome to the forum, as you will learn most problems are not problems at all. You just have to believe in the perfection of the smart and stop complaining since you obviously don't "get it". If you continue to find fault be prepared for demands to either sell your car or shut up.

I guess going deaf would help you to "get over it" though....
