Anyone get paid to wrap a Smart?

I'm strongly considering getting paid to wrap my Smartie in advertising. Has anyone done this yet?

Here are two issues to consider:

SCAMS
Most, if not all, of the companies out there advertising to get your car wrapped for a nominal fee ($30) do virtually nothing but take your cash, process your application, and then bupkes. The skinny on these companies is: Don't waste your money. There are more drivers out there who would be interested in wrapping cars than there are advertisers who need them. It's not that these companies are ALL scammers, but from what I've learned, it seems that these are mostly ineffective at best.

DAMAGE
One of the threads had this message from one of our dealers: "Our wrap company has told us that the only way to properly remove wrap would be to use heat and solvent. Because the panels are not metal, they would not respond well to either. If you plan on wrapping your smart, don't expect to be able to remove it later."

So if anyone has dealt with a reputable company and has gotten a Smart Car wrapped, please share your secrets!

SORRY, i'm (my normal state of mind lately)

are you saying that you have a company that will pay YOU $30 to advertise their product? are THEY paying for the 'wrap'? are they paying you ONLY $30? or is it $30/mo?

just curious.....

as for the damage, i would factor in the expense of a new set of panels into your charge for advertising.....

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The idea is that you have to pay about $30 in order to apply to become a customer of one of these wrapping companies. Then they're supposed to find you a match (some company that wants to 'hire' your car for their adverts). But if they 'fail' (or don't bother to try), you have no refund and no recourse, really.

uh, red flag, anyone?

The advertiser should pay. It's in their interest to get attention. They should pay the $30 finder's fee in addition to whatever you get for driving with their logos.

Check out this site: Big Wraps - The Large Vehicle Graphics Specialists

Some other wrap threads indicate the wrap will be difficult to remove without damaging your plastic panels - something to consider.

Well if damage is likley then why not have the ad company purchase body panels and have wraps installed on them and just replace the one that came on your car. When the advertizing contract is up you can remove their panels and put your original panels back on your Smart and have ad company pick up their panels. WIN/WIN

I have not researched this and if I am way off base Sorry but that is my 2 cent.
