newbie with a question

I have a May '07 reservation and a 10-digit reservation number. What are the 4-digit references on this forum (ie: "1173")? Are these post-configurator order confirmation numbers? I have not yet received a follow up email from Smart inviting me to confirm configuration. Any sense of whether May reservations will get a car this year?

how would that be.....I reserved on 04/13/07 becoming an 1198. I finalized the configuration on 11/26/07, less than 5 minutes after they sent the notice. I changed my mind on color the next day and put the change through in less than 24 hours from the email notice. About 2 weeks passed and I called to make sure that everything was as ordered and it was not. They didn't have some of the options listed that had printed out as confirmed on my printout. This was corrected on the phone and by immediate emails. I never got an email follow up with in 24 hours as promised in the notice and only got this letter in an email, along with a phone call, both early today.
Am I confused? Maybe....yea, I think I'm getting pretty confused. Could someone explain any of this or has anyone else had an experience like mine? I hope no one has because it's fairly irritating to feel like you've been lost on the floor somewhere after responding as quickly as I have each time and being told on the phone that all is well and on schedule.

You reserved when I did in May. Guessing that your last four numbers begin with 12 - right? Also guessing that we will get our cars around this May or June. We can hope. However, I have configured mine and my number is 1232.

Yes ! Got the email this mornig tagged at 6:30 last night will take a ride to see the Smart center in Hartford to hopefully get a Vin and all that kinda stuff that the lawers make us do... WOO HOO

finally

Finally got the e-mail at 4:54 pm (eastern time) yesterday
But it directs me to the Alexandria Smart Center. I was sure it would be Tyson's, as its closer. Oh well.
No call from the dealer yet.

Some numbers were skipped for reason known only to them. Mine was very near tail end of requests for confirmations. They have (I think) temporarily discontinued them possibly because they have enough for their factory to handle now. All this info comes from others in here. If you want to read more from people in same boat, click on "Search" on top red strip, type in "dealer list"...then "go"...then click on "What has happened to Confirmation Process." Hope this is helpful. That may be the long way around...I was really looking for a dealer list at the time.

I talked to SmartUSA yesterday. They said the email confirmation is still running and emails are still going out weekly. I'm 1262, brother-in-law is 1244. We have not heard. We are attached to Devon PA. I think we are now in the allotment of that dealership and the emails will go out based on how their schedule is laid out.

Didn't see it until I got home this afternoon; also in the mailbox were e-mails from smart center Columbus (they won't be ready until late Feb, hence the diversion) and smart center Louisville confirming the delivery to them in January and providing the VIN. We'll get the details worked out next week; it's a 2 hour drive down and back but better than no car at all.
