I'd get the yellow, but I like the silver tridion cell rather than black. Yellow has molded-in color, so it'll hold up better and look good longer than blue. I first got a 'somber' color for my smart - silver/silver - and then swapped panels. To me, the smart needs a happy color to go with its character. Luckily, there's something for everyone's taste, and it's never too late to change your mind, even after you've bought.

i FEAR the day i have to 'configure', as i don't have a clue as to what color combo i want to order. white/silver? silver/silver? yellow/silver?

while i really like the blue/silver combo, i think with the smarts small size i want a color that CAN BE SEEN!!! (of course it really doesn't help those BLIND drivers to see ya)

right now i'm leaning towards white/silver with red interior, but who knows. but don't sell the yellow/silver combo short. you need to see one in person. I LIKE IT!!!

and besides, the yellow/black is way too common now.........(for me anyway)

I'm with you mermaid, I got the blue/black and then ordered yellow panels. Now I don't have to choose. I can swap whenever I feel like it. And yes, I agree the black tridion is the way to go for both blue and yellow. I think it gives it a classier look. Whatever you finally decide, I'm sure you'll be happy wth.

Q: what color will your registration say? yellow? blue? might be interesting if you ever get pulled over and while the VIN might match, your color doesn't.

i've said this before, in states where you can tell the BMV what color your car is, tell them the color of the tridion cell. silver or black. this way you can't go wrong if you ever change your panels......

Or if you can't decide, purchase another panel kit and swap out or go all Punky Brewster on it. One red, one yellow, one blue... do they make green?
Geek, I remember there was 3 or them there yellers, 2 blues, my dirty red and your black at the get together in P-Cola.

Janet - I had originally reserved a Blue/Silver Pure(with red interior) but later configured a Bumblebee Passion (once again - red interior!). The yellow is a far more happy color just like Geek said. That's why I went for it.

Green? They don't make that for a reason...no one would EVER want a GREEN Smart.

The obvious simple solution is to go with Blue/Black and buy a set of Yellow panels. Leave one side blue and change out the panels on the other side to Yellow so you have both cars in one.

Janet... I wanted Red Black until I saw the tomato red that was offered... last min I decided on Yellow Black...but wife over shoulder at configure time said YUCK...SO I opted for my next preference Blue Black.... when she dropped me off on delivery day she fell in love with the Bumblebee Yellow Black.... fortunately I had not yet configured the 1470 second reservation... yep it is going to be delivered in Nov ~Dec as a Bumblebee 09 smart car....

I am OK with you deciding to copy my twin smart colors...grin

OH! And if for some reason smartGMBH decides to seriously drop the yellow option and make me reconfigure... I will go blue black again and simply cough up the extra $899~999 for a set of yellow panels for it and then have a spear set of blue for my 08 car

Another option is to get a white set and paint them whatever color you want. It would work great here for football season. I could paint half of the panels orange and the other half blue and be all set to head for Gator games. Those of you from other colleges could substitute your team colors as required.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts! I'm really starting to lean toward the bumblebee with a spare set of blue panels. Although I really do like the "bi-color disorder" idea....
