Chandler has a red with silver tridion. It had tinted windows, comfort package, cd changer, cd holder, smokers package and Lojack. It is priced at $17262.20 plus tax, title and license. Alex called me yesterday and told me about it. I went down today on my lunch to look at it. I decided to wait for mine, even though it may be close to end of the year for mine. I am also not a big fan of the red color. I also want a black tridion so when I get the black rims it will look better. But I did break down and buy a white smart baseball cap. That's all good and fine for those who have theirs already or see getting one within a reasonable amount of time. I'm a 1235 that has NOT configured yet watching 13XX's configure. The last bunch that configured were told "last half of 2008." So what are my options?

A. Take an Orphan with additional equipment and pay a little extra.
B. Wait and pay more in the end since it'll be a 2009 model with the markup.
C. Give up all together and just get my $99 refund.

I'm already well aware that Dallas is adding after-market items to make more money on the Orphans. {"Wheels, Pinstriping, LoJack, and Window Tint."} It's all a matter of supply and demand. If it comes down to it and it's get an orphan in the next 2 or 3 months with additional aftermarket items and markup or wait another year? I'll take the additional items TYVM.

The Dallas dealership not only serves the DFW area but other states as well. So I understand the wait time based on the large area they cover plus the higher than average demand in our area.

Today I did talk with Allison. She does have my information and I am on the orphan list. Though it does seem that Dallas does not seem to get many orphans. The down side is Dallas DOES add several after-market items to bring the price up about 2K. Currently there are no orphans.

I've also called smartusa. They are about as helpful as a bump on a log. They were only able to tell me that they still had my reservation and that "You should be able to configure soon." Though that could be another several weeks or months in smartusa time.
