Used to be a bunch of DIY washes around when I lived there. Drop in a big load of quarters, grab the spray gun and go to town - shoots out soap, hi or lo pressure water (heated) and some even had a 'wax' setting that I never used. Great for getting all the crud and sno-mud off the body. Used to shove it underneath too, to clean the salty crap off under there.

Of course, it aways snowed the very next night. . .

Once a month, my smartie gets the self-service 6 quarter wash, and 30 minute owner applied rub-down. He goes home purrrrrring.

I took mine to a brushless car wash once. It wasn't damaged or scratched but I wasn't satisfied. When I wash it it gets clean and sparkles. No missed spots or streaks. I know, I'm really picky, but that wasn't always true. Just since I got the smart.
